"NEST"

NEST "A Journey Through Nature - A Way Back Home"

Price $24.95

NEST "A Journey Through Nature - A Way Back Home" is the first book published by Wild Geese Publishing. It celebrates a journey home towards our true calling, where we remember how it is to tread gently on the earth. Filled with full-color, exquisite images of nature throughout by photographer Geraint Smith, the book is an expression of gratitude to the earth, our home, for surrounding us with an abundance of unconditional beauty. When we look at a tree and can then become the tree, we realize that in this vast loving universe, we are complete, just as we are. Everywhere we look, whether at the simplest shadow cast by a blade of grass or a majestic landscape filled with dramatic color and form, both experiences leave us with an undeniable feeling of how good it is to be alive.

The book is beautifully edited and designed by Lesley Cox with a foreword by Jim O'Donnell, Author of "Notes for the Aurora Society"

WILD GEESE FUND

Proceeds from the sale of NEST and sales on Wild Geese go to the Wild Geese Fund supporting art and educational programs for children that focus on inspiring creativity in nature.

July 1st, 2011

Perfection is in the Moment.

In the Wild, Photo Exhibit by Geraint Smith, July 9, 6 to 8 p.m.

pine sappling, perfection is in the moment

"Shakespeare's Fifteenth Sonnet ... which starts out: 'When I consider every thing that grows holds in perfection but a little moment ...' has left an indelible mark in me since I first recited it as a kid. I feel that perfection needs only to be a little moment and that striving for anything more separates me from that instant. In my photography I look for that essential moment knowing that is all there is and I move on.

The images in "In The Wild" - a benefit for Rivers & Birds, best represent the little moment of perfection in us all and the wonderful inseparable part of nature we are.

Please join me on July 9th to support Rivers & Birds environmental programs that provide our local youth with opportunities to experience this magic in nature!" Geraint Smith

10-13-09 I had an incredible time on friday during the Taos Mountain Film Festival with my friend Jonathon Slator who allowed me to tag along and get some photos of ledgendary climber, mountaineer, explorer and gentleman Sir Chris Bonington. I was transported to my time 35 years ago, when, as a 17 year old living and climbing in North Wales I was enthralled with accounts of the exploits and explorations of Chris Bonington.
